Our environmentally-focused and interactive programs serve children and youth in elementary, middle and high schools, preschools, clubs and summer groups in the Capital Regional District. To book a program call our Education Coordinator at 386-WORM (9676) during our regular office hours. Workshops are offered Wednesday to Friday, January to November. Programs range from one to two hours and may be delivered at our demonstration site or at your facility. We have three different programming areas:

Join us once a month in our vibrant teaching garden for Saturday morning adventures. We will be planting, growing, harvesting, and, of course, eating! Themes will focus around composting, gardening, and producing food in an urban setting. We will have games, songs, theatre, and fun-packed field trips to nearby gardens and farms! Workshops can be taken stand-alone or consecutively.

Garden Learners will be back in September of 2013! Come join us in our vibrant garden and our Strawbale building for fun and fantastic hands-on learning experiences! We are going to be growing food, composting, talking about basic principles of permaculture, and exploring local sustainability projects. Provincially prescribed learning outcomes are incorporated, but we will be gauging our programs based on children’s interests.
This is a drop-off program, which is offered in 4 week modules that can be taken stand-alone or consecutively.

Turn your kids “green” at a GRUBS Camp with Lifecycles Project Society and the Greater Victoria Compost Education Centre. This exciting day camp offers fun and educational agriculturally-based experiences including: Exploring urban farms; building our own compost bins; playing with worms; learning about local food; planting seeds and growing veggies; outdoor games and activities; daily farm field trips; and much more!
This year's GRUBS camp will take place July 29th-Aug 2nd, 2013 at the Victoria West Community Centre.

Our on-site birthday parties offer a fun and exciting atmosphere, while promoting sustainable living. We deliver great activities geared at teaching kids all about the wonders of gardens and soil while providing fun birthday party games such as: face painting, pin the tail on the worm, find the red wriggler worms, and nature treasure hunts.

Cost: $75 for 10 kids; $5 for each extra kid (max of 15 kids)

1. Indoor and outdoor space for snacks, freeplay, presents, cake, etc.
2. Worm cake (optional) (Organic Vegan Chocolate Cake from Wild Fire Organic Bakery)
3. Engaging, educational, and multisensory program. Choose from one of three exciting themes: Worms, Garden, or Compost.
